Dean's Executive Speaker Series: Director of Microsoft Future of Work Initiative, Ben Reno-Weber

Learn about how AI and data science influences innovation in the workplace, while impacting our economy.

In November of 2019, Ben took on a new position as Director of The Future of Work Initiative. The Future of Work Initiative is the Louisville-based regional hub for artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, and data science, created and backed by Microsoft. Reno-Weber is the co-founder of MobileServe, an application that allows organizations to measure and communicate their social impact in the community. Prior to that he ran the Kentucky YMCA and was a consultant for the Boston Consulting Group.

Develop a strategic approach to building an internship experience enriching for both the employer and employee. All events in the Collaboration Series are hosted by Story Louisville and Rubel School of Business, at Bellarmine University.

BLS Data Products: Research Economist, Ben Raymond

Ben Raymond will discuss the general structure of the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), providing an overview of the main variables they produce. He will highlight how some of BLS's products can be used by both businesses and workers. While the talk will cover national statistics such as the Consumer Price Index (CPI), there will be a special focus on state and county level statistics specific to the greater Louisville area.

Data analytics is the fastest growing field for business development. Bellarmine MBA alum, Matt Mitchell, will cover basic tools available in free software programs Power BI and Google Analytics focusing on how to utilize client data. These are some of the many dashboards used to build expansion plans, develop a marketing campaign, and so much more. Come learn some of the key tools taught in our Graduate Certificate in Applied Business Analytics.
